Whole House Refurbishment and Extension

Whole house refurbishment with extensions and alterations resulting in an attractive and comfortable modern family home, a property that is much more environmentally friendly and cheaper to run.

Enlarging the accommodation: Three extensions increased the accommodation and provided the opportunity to create a house with its own unique character. A two-storey front extension relocated the front entrance opening into a draught lobby, adding a self-contained ground floor reception room and fourth double bedroom above. A two-storey extension to the other side of the house retained the garage link to the new utility room with a dressing room and ensuite for the existing master bedroom above. A wrap around single storey front extension more than doubled the size of the kitchen, creating volume with a vaulted ceiling and light with carefully positioned rooflights.

Energy refurbishment: Switching to all electric has allowed gas to be removed from the property. Significantly reducing the heat loss of the house, a carefully thought through comprehensive insulation strategy including external wall insulation; loft and flat roof insulation; and replacement triple glazed windows set within the line of the insulation; has helped improve the efficiency of the newly installed air source heat pump and the associated heating and hot water system. The installation of photovoltaic panels with battery storage supplement the all-electric approach.

Renovation works:  A complete renovation with new refitted bathroom areas throughout including adding a ground floor shower room. External works were also carried out to replace the existing patio area and refurbish the front driveway and landscaping.
