Jacobean Hall

AC Architects were selected by the new owners of grade 2* listed Hilton Hall to design a family room with ancillary accommodation, creating a new and better relationship to the garden, maximising its southerly aspect whilst minimising its environmental impact.

The designs salvaged and re-used building fabric wherever possible, including reusing timber panelling in a room re-created to match its historic dimensions.

The building’s historic structure was saved from further disrepair by stabilising the roof structure and insulating the attic in a preliminary phase of works, and this combined with the owners sympathetic restoration of the main part of the house has secured the Hall for enjoyment by future generations.
