Designing for the future means considering our impact on the environment every time we build new buildings or alter and extend existing ones. AC Architects Cambridge Ltd have a longstanding commitment to creating low energy, green, sustainable buildings. Minimising impact is at the heart of every design; reducing demand by means of super insulation, rainwater collection, natural light, draught stripping, passive ventilation, thermal mass, low energy fittings, and passive solar design. A reduced energy demand enhances the opportunity to use renewable energy sources for heating and hot water systems. Our projects utilise solar thermal panels, rainwater collection tanks, heat pumps, and underfloor heating amongst other green technologies as appropriate for the project. We consider embodied energy which is particularly important when working with old buildings.
